Weddings at Rockingham Castle
Being a Rockingham castle wedding photographer is great. This venue is beautiful, who wouldn’t want to get married in a castle?! Rockingham castle can be found just outside of Corby, Northamptonshire, and is perfectly located in the East Midlands to host your wedding.
I have photographed weddings at Rockingham castle a handful of times before and have always found it to be stunning; the views, the backdrop and the layout make it an ideal place to get married.

They offer the ability to seat a maximum of 60 guests in the Great Hall, or up to 90 guests for the wedding breakfast in the dining room in Walker’s House. There’s plenty of space at Rockingham castle, meaning that every aspect of your day, from the ceremony, through the speeches and until the first dance is surrounded by beauty.
For the evening reception, Walker’s House is the perfect location for up to up to 120 guests. In addition to the ground-level dining room, you can choose to use the dance and bar area on the lower floor, known as the Undercroft, and two additional rooms on the top floor.
Natural Wedding Photography
As you’ve seen from my website, I take a natural, relaxed approach to wedding photography. Because of this, you will end up with authentically real wedding images – which are a true representation of your day.
I like to think of myself as a guest, I will fit in to your day seamlessly – often using a wide angle lens and a shallow depth of field to tell a story in every frame. I will also eat canapes.
You will end up with 4-600 beautifully shot and edited images from your day, on a password protected gallery. To see more details about what I offer, take a look here at my (non) packages.
Rockingham Castle – 11th Century Wonder
William the Conqueror ordered the construction of a wooden Motte and Bailey at Rockingham in the 11th century shortly after the Norman Invasion of Britain. By the late 15th century Rockingham Castle had fallen into disrepair. Sir Edward Watson acquired the lease of the castle from Henry VIII – his family has occupied the castle ever since then.
There are very few other homes that have been continuously occupied for nearly 1000 years and within that time been owned by just one family since being relinquished as a royal Castle.Rockingham Castle was a popular haunt of writer Charles Dickens, who was a great friend of Richard and Lavinia Watson, ancestors of the current family.
Today the Castle is the home of James and Elizabeth Saunders Watson and their three children, the direct descendants of Edward Watson.
Poised above the Welland Valley with fine views of five counties the ramparts enclose 12 acres of sweeping lawns, formal and informal gardens set among the medieval fortifications. There is a circular Rose Garden on the site of the old keep and a magnificent wild garden in the ravine below containing over 200 species of trees and shrubs.
