A Wedding Photographer at the Wellington Arms
I had the pleasure of being a Wellington Arms wedding photographer recently – and a great time it was too. This recently renovated venue is ideally located for weddings. The venue looks great, inside and out, it also serves a pretty mean steak and ale pie… what more reasons to get married there could you want?
Take a look at some beautiful images I captured below.
A Wonderful Autumn Wedding
Chloe and James, like everyone else currently planning a wedding, had quite the job on their hands to make the day as special as it was. Constantly changing rules around numbers, venues etc. meant that the day had to be fiddled with a bit.
However, it still totally rocked! They carefully curated their list of guests (got rid of the dead wood) and ended up with a really great group of people. The best man, couldn’t get back from New Zealand due to travel restrictions, but the moment James was presented with a life-size cut out of him is one which will stick with me.
The best man also pre-recorded a speech, and was there via Facetime throughout the day. The whole occasion was also livestreamed for those guests who
didn’t make the cut unfortunately couldn’t attend.
Bridal prep happened, a ceremony happened, drinks reception, speeches, a wedding breakfast and a first dance. They really made the best of the current situation and showed how love is at the heart of a wedding – no matter what restrictions are put in place.
Thank you so much for having me guys – it was awesome!

Natural Wedding Photographer
Hopefully, you will have noticed that I love taking natural, relaxed, documentary style wedding images. I don’t contrive situations, pose people (unless you want it), or lead your day. Your day should be about celebrating your love – surrounded by your friends and family; if I set up a tripod and a really long lens, and spent the day bossing people around then you may end up with some nice pictures. But, you definitely wouldn’t enjoy the day as much as you should, and nor would your guests.
The way I work is to fit in with your day, I like to think I am a bit like a guest (although, my presence is your present) – so, I will talk to your guests, that way they will relax and enjoy your day and relax. Then, I can use a nice wide angle lens and take pictures which really tell the story of your day. Moments which happen, laughs, (happy) cries, fun and everything else which makes up a perfect day.
