Documentary Wedding Photographer Covering the Whole of the UK

TWIA Best Wedding Photographer (Newcomer)

Multi ‘Photographers Keeping it Real’ Award Winner

Award Winning East Midlands

Wedding Photographer

Welcome to BGS Weddings – My name is Barney, and I am an award winning wedding photographer based in the tiny county of Rutland. I shoot weddings all over the UK.

I take a natural, relaxed, approach to photographing a wedding, I always say to my couples that they should ‘do their thing’ and I’ll get some cool shots. I love working with couples who want ‘real’ images, no awkward posing or faffing around – natural wedding photography is best!

In 2019 I won Best Wedding Photographer (newcomer) at The Wedding Industry Awards, which I was super chuffed about. This year I have been lucky enough to be nominated as a regional finalist for Best Wedding Photographer. I have also won awards from Photographers Keeping it Real, LooksLikeFilm and the DARE photographers.

Check out the highlights from an amazing year!

Barney put everyone at ease and took some amazing photos. He naturally seems to know when to be visible and when to blend in with all the guests. This resulted in some amazing natural photos which captured the moment perfectly.

Documenting Moments

You’ll never hear me say the ‘s’ word. No, not that one, I say that one all the time. I’m talking about “smile”, no-one can look good when you tell them to smile. I pride myself on being able to capture natural, candid, moments as they happen.

Natural Wedding Photos (2019)

2019 was amazing – truly, amazing. Tens of weddings, hundreds of coffees, thousands of images. I wanted to post some images, but also to give a little of back story to the image; how it happened, why I took it, what I was thinking – Enjoy!

Why book a Documentary Wedding Photographer?

I would describe myself as a documentary wedding photographer. That is, I don’t pose people, I don’t contrive situations, I just take pictures of your day, as it happens
