Wedding Photographer at Barnsdale Hall
I’ve said it many times before, but we’re definitely spoilt for choice of venues in Rutland, you definitely can’t go too far wrong organising a Barnsdale Hall wedding photographer – it really is a stunning venue; perfectly placed on the shore of Rutland Water. Plus, you can get married outside overlooking the reservoir.
Barnsdale Hall – What a view!
A former hunting lodge, Barnsdale Hall Hotel today offers a wide variety of hotel, lodge and apartment holiday accommodation, restaurant and bar; as well as comprehensive conference services and wedding packages. Sailing, photography clubs, falconry, bird watching, fly fishing, golf, cycling, gardens and historic market towns such as Stamford, Oakham and Melton Mowbray are all close by.
First things first (my wife really hates when I say that); we need to talk about the room where Amy got ready. I say room, it’s a suite. I say suite, it’s more like an apartment. I say apartment, you get the idea… It’s amazing, not only because I could help myself to coffee, but the space, the light, the windows, the view. Barnsdale Hall has everything – brilliant!
As I said, you can have your wedding ceremony outside, overlooking the water; I helped shoot a wedding in Montenegro a couple of weeks previous to this, which was breathtaking – but it honestly was so similar to this outside ceremony. Probably better here, mainly because it was a 15 minute drive home, rather than around three weeks of travelling for Montenegro.
The suite, located near the entrance of Barnsdale Hall which Amy, the bridesmaids, flower girls and mother of the bride got ready in was very special, big windows overlooking the reservoir provided some excellent light for the make-up artists and hair stylists – as well as being the perfect light for me to photograph in.
Rory had two best men, he had 147 groomsmen, so I guess it made sense to have a couple of best men… They both delivered really heartfelt speeches, which showed how well liked Rory is; definitely up there with the best best man speeches I’ve heard, well done guys.
The room where the wedding breakfast took place looked great, tastefully decorated table centrepieces and wedding favours throughout. The DJ had a great time getting everyone on the dance floor and ensuring everyone was partying well past the first dance
It was a really great day, two lovely people, surrounded by their closest friends and family celebrating with them, in a beautiful location for a wedding; exactly as it should be!
As I’ve mentioned, the grounds of Barnsdale Hall are perfect for wedding photography; lots of open space for dramatic, wide couple shoots which also take in the landscape, as well as some beautiful secluded areas for relaxed portraits. If you’re lucky, you may even see an osprey or deer running (frolicking? they frolick right?) and you can try your hand at some nature photography.
The prep suite, outdoor ceremony venue and wedding breakfast room were all equally pleasing photographically. I could definitely make use of a wide range of angles and compositions to make sure I documented all of the moments which happened in the most beautiful way possible. We were also blessed with a glorious sunset, making silhouettes of the couple, with the sun setting during golden hour and the water in the background really was a treat to photograph.
If you’re in need of a Barnsdale Hall wedding photographer, (or any location throughout the UK) then get in touch, I’d love to hear your plans. No Posers!
