Sissons Barn – A Beautiful Venue

Sissons Barn is set in the peaceful Fenland countryside; they offer a truly stunning setting for your beautiful day. Exclusively yours, the spectacular barn offers the perfect mix of tradition, elegance and contemporary styling.

A venue for all seasons, comfortably holding up to 100 guests for your ceremony and 120 seated for dining. Outside, the open immaculately landscaped lawns, beautiful vast skies of Fenland and picturesque English countryside provide the perfect setting for couples’ photos and outside celebrations.

Natural Wedding Photography at Sissons Barn

Working at Sissons Barn leaves me spoilt for choice for photography. As hopefully you know, I work in a really relaxed, natural, reportage style when taking pictures. I will always capture candid images, often with a wide angle lens and using a narrow depth of field. I use a wide range of compositions to tell the story of your wedding day. Sissons Barn complements this.

Clean lines and beautiful grounds mean I don’t need to worry about extra distractions in the frame. Outdoors really lends itself for relaxed couples portraits; we’ll just go and have a casual walk around, we may even get an epic sunset to use – I love photographing those.

While the natural light is incredible (especially in the main barn during the ceremony), I always use off-camera flash during the reception. This is key to capturing the energy and atmosphere of the dance floor without sacrificing the overall moody, candid look of the evening.

Absolutely. I’ve worked in Sissons Barn and know the best positions to capture the ceremony without obstructing the view. I understand how the light changes depending on the time of day, ensuring I’m set up to capture you beautifully, whether you’re lit by the large windows or the ambient overhead lighting.

Sissons Barn is an extremely popular venue, and weekend dates book up quickly. To secure your date, I strongly recommend getting in touch 12 to 18 months in advance. Contact me as soon as you have your date confirmed, even if you’re just starting to look!

The formal group shots are the only time I will direct you! I keep this part extremely efficient—usually under 15 minutes—using the beautiful backdrop of the lawns or the front of the barn. Once those are done, I switch right back to documentary coverage for the rest of the day, allowing you to relax and enjoy the celebration
